Foliage | Its spirally arranged, stalked leaves have thinly leathery leaf blades that are egg-shaped-oval, about 8–15 by 3–6 cm, hairless above, and densely covered with hair below. The midrib is prominent on the undersides of the leaf blades. |
Flowers | Its male and androgynous flowering shoots are 10–20 cm long. The white male flowers are either solitary or in clusters of 3–7. The female flowers are solitary. |
Fruit | A cupule encloses the fruit completely. Its pear-shaped cupules are 2–3.5 by 1.5–2 cm, and covered with short, woody, pyramidal tubercles.Its pear-shaped fruits are solitary and 1.5 by 2.5 cm. Its fruits have wrinkled surfaces. |
