Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form A woody shrub growing to about 2 m tall, which forms a dome-like crown when its lower branches covering ground.
Foliage Foliage is arranged in whorls of 4 along stem, dark green, about 2 cm long, lanceolate, margin entire, lower surface and petiole hairy, upper surface glabrous to moderately hairy. 
Flowers Flowers are white or purple with brown spots, about 2 cm across, axillary, similar shape as mint. 
Habitat Grows well near coastal area.
Etymology Genus Westringia was named after J.P.Westring who was an 18th century Swedish physician. Specific epithet fruticosa means bushy, shrubby.
