Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form A herbaceous, evergreen climber, it climbs by means of tendrils produced in the leaf axils. 
Foliage The alternately arranged leaves are three-lobed with a toothed margin.  
Flowers The plant is free flowering all year round, producing flowers with deep red sepals and petals. The corona filaments are dark red with white tips and bases. 
Cultivation It is best grown under full sun, in well-drained soil.
