Growth Form Compact vine with variegated leaves
Foliage Leaves to 8cm long by 3.5cm wide, mid-dark green flushed with very pale dull yellow. Juvenile leaves often with pink-bright red flush
Flowers Flowers to 1cm across; corolla light - dark pink, densely hairy. Corona white, tinged with red towards the centre. 
Similar Is similar to another variegated cultivar, Hoya carnosa 'variegata' except that the leaves for 'tricolor' are also tinged withh deep pink - bright red hues, especially in the juvenile foliage. The pink/ red colouration tends to be less intense under very warm growing conditions.
Etymology The cultivar name refers to the presence of 3 colors on the foliage - green, pale yellow and red.
