Description and Ethnobotany

| Foliage | Green oblong-elliptic to oblanceolate-oblong leaves, measuring about 9 - 27 cm long and 3.5 - 9 cm wide, petiole about 8 - 17 cm long, margin slightly recurved. |
| Flowers | Flowers borne on a terminal raceme inflorescence about 10 cm long. |
| Fruit | Fruit is brownish-orange and subglobose in shape, measuring about 4 - 10 cm wide, texture rough. |

| Etymology | Genus Gonystylus is from Greek words "gony" which means "joint or knee" and "stylos" which means "a style" and they refer to the angled style of the plant. Species confusus means it was earlier mistaken for another species. |
