Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form A medium sized tree grows up to 20 m tall.
Foliage Leaves are narrow-elliptical to oblong, measuring 7-15 cm long. Young leaves have toothed margins while the old ones have smooth margins.
Flowers Flowers are creamy-white, borne in clusters (racemes) which measures up to 30 cm long.
Fruit The fruit is a brown nut enclosed in a shell, globular, measuring 2-4 cm in diameter. The shell changes from green to brown when mature.
Ethnobotanical Uses Edible Plant Parts : Edible Seeds
Food (Fruit or Vegetable): The seed kernels are white, and can be eaten roasted. Macadamia nuts are considered as one of the most tasty nuts.
