Ficus kurzii also commonly known as Burmese Banyan, is a tall tree with many aerial roots. It produces round figs which turn dark red to purple when ripe and are eaten by birds.

Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form A large sized tree up to 30 m tall.
Trunk This plant produces aerial roots, growing into woody trunks once reach the ground.
Foliage Leaves are leathery, spirally arranged, elliptic to oblong, measuring 4-12 cm long and 1.5-5.5 cm wide. 
Fruit Fruits are usually borne in pairs in leaf axils, subglobose, measuring 1-2 cm in diameter. Ripe fruits are dark red, purple or black in color.
Habitat Dense forests at low altitude.
