Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form It is a tree, up to 10 m tall.
Foliage Leaves is compound with round sunken glands on leaf rachis and petiole base. Leaflets are 5 – 9 cm long and 2 – 4.5 cm wide, oblong shaped with oblique base and acuminate apex.
Flowers Inflorescence comprises of 10 – 20 sessile flowers, arranged in panicles. Flowers are white, 4 – 5 mm wide, and covered in short brown hairs.  
Fruit Seed pod is twisted in a circle (2 – 3 cm wide) and constricted between seeds. Seed is black and about 1.5 cm wide.  
Associated Fauna Seeds are dispersed by birds.
