Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form Herbaceous plant up to 45 cm tall.
Foliage Leaves are approximately heart-shaped or kidney-shaped to round.
Flowers The inflorescence is composed of many white, spotted flowers.
Habitat Occurs in forests, meadows, rock crevices and scrub.

Food (Fruit or Vegetable): The leaves can be eaten cooked or raw. The flowering stem is said to be tasty when salted.
Medicinal: A decoction (the liquid obtained from boiling plant material in water) is used to treat boils, abscesses, and snake bites. The leaf juice is applied to aching ears.
