Growth Form Woody shrub, able to grow up to 1 m tall and with a spread of 0.6 - 0.9 m wide.
Foliage Oblong to oblong-ovate green leaves, simple and opposite arrangement, measuring about 7 - 17 cm long.
Flowers Yellow to yellowish-orange flowers borne in a cluster.
Fruit Fruit colour is purplish-red.
Etymology Genus Ixora refers to the name of a Malabar deity, Iswara. Species javanica means from Java.
