Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form It is a herbaceous perennial which grows from fleshy bulbs of around 10 cm thick.
Foliage Foliage are leathery, glossy, rosette, linear-shaped, greenish red, measuring 0.6 - 1.2 m long.
Flowers Flowers are fragrant, pink and red; stalk cylindrical, measuring 0.3 to 0.9 m tall; each flower has 6 petals and sepals, floral tube measuring 15 cm, stamens are rose coloured.
Fruit Fruits are green, round capsules, lobed and measuring around 2 - 7 cm long and 5 cm thick.
