Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form Herbaceous plant up to 1.2 m tall.
Foliage Elliptic leaves have soft, pointed tips. They are green with a large silvery-grey, longitudinal stripe that is centered along the midvein and covers half the leaf blade. The edges of the stripe are rough and irregular.  
Flowers Greenish white flowers are arranged in a rod-like inflorescence known as a spadix.
