Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form Climbing plant which grow to about 2.4 m to 3 m tall.
Foliage Oblong leaves, 10cm to 20 cm wide, are arranged in whorls with entire leaf margin and pinnate venation. 
Flowers Trumpet shaped flowers are cherry red to light purple which are produced in small cluster near the stem tips. Flowers give off a pleasant fragrant, which is the strongest at night. Each flower has 5 overlapping petals with a dark purple throat. 
Fruit Matured pod-like fruits ( 2.5 cm to 7.5 cm) are green, hard and dry.
