Description

Size 23 cm
Description Rectangular-shaped body with a round head. A black spot can be found on the gill cover and truncate caudal fin respectively. Body is typically olive-grey, occasionally has blackish bars.

Ecology, Habitat & Location

Ecological Notes Omnivorous, consumes small fishes and insects. Has ability to inhale air and can survive out of water. Typically found in places with low water levels.
Habitats Forest, Freshwater
Distribution Can be found in streams and ponds in both rural and forested areas in Singapore. Worldwide, it can be found in India, East Asia, Indochina, Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines.
