Description

Description Head rounded, not distinct from body. Body cylindrical with relatively short tail. Scales smooth. Dark purplish brown above fading to white on underside. 

Ecology, Habitat & Location

Ecological Notes Nocturnal. Semi-aquatic. Ovo-viviparous. Feeds on hard-shelled crabs. Mildly venomous. In Singapore, known mainly from estuaries along the northern coast.

Distribution Distributed along the coast of Indochina, Malaysia, Indonesia to northern Australia.
