Description

Size 25cm
Description Males are black with a bright blue crown, back, rump, and undertail feathers, and have red eyes. Females are duller, with blue feathers and blue-black wings.

Ecological Notes Can be observed in the canopy or mid-storey, most often singly or in pairs.
Habitats Forest
Distribution Occurs in southwest and east India, southernmost China, mainland Southeast Asia,Thai-Malay Peninsula, Greater Sundas, and Palawan. In Singapore, seen in the Central Nature Reserves.
