Description
Description | The pale adult morph is brown above and white below with dark mesial streak, with a dark-streaked belly and breast, and light narrow rufous bars on thighs and undertail coverts, four dark bands on the tail and a distinct short crest. The dark adult morph is black with grey dark-tipped tail. When in flight, the underside of the wings is grey. The pale juvenile morph has white head, neck and underparts, prominent white fringes on upperwing coverts, with more dark tail bands. When in flight, the underside is similar to the adult except from a paler body, wing coverts and tail pattern. The dark juvenile morph is similar to the adult except for dark bars on the underside of the flight feathers and tail. |
