Description

Description The back of this frog may be green or brown, but the pair of white dorso-lateral band is characteristic. The call has been described as a 'squeaky warble'. Skin on back smooth, hind legs long and slender, tips of fingers and toes not flattened into disks. Topside bright green, sometimes brown, with two brown-edged white stripes; upper lip white. Tadpoles are large (about 3 cm), marbled brown and green, and usually occur in still water in ponds and ditches.

Ecology, Habitat & Location

Ecological Notes Nocturnal and insectivorous. Usually found at water's edge or on broad floating leaves. Occurs largely in freshwater bodies.
