Description

Description Very slender and scaleless with two pairs of barbels, one pair considerably longer than the other; long anal fins fused to elongated tail fin, and small dorsal fin with only four rays. Body yellowish-brown mottled with dark brown.

Ecology, Habitat & Location

Ecological Notes Well shaded forest streams and swamps with acidic waters. This carnivorous fish swims about actively in mid-water at night.

Distribution Presently recorded only from the Central Catchment Nature Reserve. Distributed in the Malay Peninsula, Java and Sumatra.
