Description

Description Bill small. Lack of blue wings and tail are characteristic features. Males have black throat lacks yellow border. Black portion of face cuts through frontal half of eye. Females have green plumage, pale blue moustache.

Ecology, Habitat & Location

Ecological Notes A forest species inhabiting the canopy and sub-canopy layers, the Lesser Green Leafbird is like its congeners a frugivore. Its habit of sticking to the treetops and its green coloration makes field observation a difficult task but its call, once learnt, is a reliable guide.
Habitats Forest
Distribution It occurs only in Bukit Timah Nature Reserve and the Central Catchment Nature Reserve. Elsewhere, it is known from the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra and Borneo.
