Description

Size 90 cm
Description Largest white egret. All white body; fairly long bill, neck, legs. Gape extends well behind eye; blackish streak along gape. Feet all-black. Breeding: bill black; lores yellow-green; plumes on lower back only. For a part of season tibia become dark pink. Non-breeding: bill, lores yellow; no plumes.

Distribution The species is commonly found worldwide, besides some of the resident population, the migratory population in East Asian-Australasian population breeds in East Asia and winters in East Asia and Southeast Asia.
