Description

Size 13 mm to 15 mm
Description The upperside of the male is light blue with narrow black markings, whilst the female has broader borders and is paler. There is a short white-tipped tail on each hindwing.

Ecology, Habitat & Location

Ecological Notes The Cycad Blue is often found around the Sago Palm (Cycas revoluta) and other Cycas sp. They are sometimes considered a pest as they destroy the Cycad palms. The caterpillars feed on the immature shoots of the palms, thus affecting new growth of the Cycad palm.
