Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form Large shrub or small tree up to 9 m tall (sometimes 12 m).
Foliage Its alternate leaves are ovate or oblong-elliptic (2.5-6.3 cm long, 2-4 cm wide). Upperside of the leaf (adaxial surface) is dark-green and smooth, while underside (abaxial surface) is hairy and silver.
Stems Its stem has a zigzag growth habit.
Flowers Tiny, yellow flowers are composed of 5 petals. They are located in the leaf axils.
Fruit Fruits are round, obovate, oval or oblong (6.3 cm long, 4.5 cm wide). Light green to yellow immature fruits turn brownish orange, reddish brown or red at maturity.
