CUGE Story
The Centre for Urban Greenery and Ecology (CUGE) is jointly established by the National Parks Board (NParks) and the SkillsFuture Singapore. We aim to serve as a regional repository of best practices to create conducive urban and green living environment, to be the leading knowledge nexus that shares greening efforts in tropical cities, and to enhance professionalism, deepen capabilities, restructure operations and position the industry to seize opportunities for growth.
CUGE provides skills training programmes and facilitates career development for all levels of professionals. The programmes range from Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) courses to professional certification programmes, workshops and seminars. Besides training, CUGE also provides career advisory services on the landscape industry.
CUGE engages in multidisciplinary research to promote greenery knowledge that makes tropical cities more liveable. Our knowledge creation involves three research areas: urban greenery, urban ecology, and social sustainability studies.
CUGE works closely with industry associations to achieve the desired outcome of a professional, thriving and competitive landscape industry.
